General Summary

Our Regional Loss Control Program Manager is responsible for providing loss control support for regional underwriting operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with the underwriting process of risk selection, pricing, and retention of profitable business.
Assist Regional VP of Underwriting with development, implementation and monitoring of regional loss control goals and objectives, as well as corporate goals and objectives.
Effectively manage and monitor an assigned book of business, directing loss control services at injury prevention and overall risk improvement. Book of business includes large/VIP accounts, accounts most in need of service (high-mod, adverse loss ratio), regulatory mandated accounts, or others as deemed by Regional VP of Underwriting.
Provide service to policyholders by working with policyholders to identify and evaluate risk factors and to develop recommendations to effectively control them.
Develop and present progress reports including outlining the status of loss control strategies/action plans for controlling losses to agents/brokers to allow them to assist their clients.
Investigate individual large losses and conducts adverse claim trend analysis to determine if loss control intervention is needed.
Provide oversight of loss control regulatory requirements and on-going compliance within region states. Prepare state filings, research requirements for new states, and prepare documents and attend state audits as required.
Effectively manage and monitor loss control third-party vendor services providing field services to policyholders. Provide quality assurance reviews of all work completed by outside vendors.
Preparation and management of regional Loss Control budget.
Represent the region/company in a professional manner in all work-related functions including interdepartmental meetings and agency presentations/events.
Develop strong, interactive relationships with business units and corporate executives to assure good communication.
Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Job Requirements:
Must have exposure to specialty Program business with an emphasis on overall Program analysis of exposures and the implementation of controls and dissemination of information via technology.
Preferred 10 years Loss Control experience within an insurance carrier with at least 3 years in a Loss Control management position, or BA in Management/Occupational Safety & Health related field and 5 years of Loss Control experience/management with an insurance carrier.
Demonstrated strong and interactive relationships with existing Program managers.

General Job Requirements:
Must be able to travel, including occasional overnight travel throughout assigned territory.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge and application of federal, state and local occupational safety and health laws and regulations.Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of workers’ compensation insurance.
Must have thorough knowledge of applicable state regulatory loss control requirements, rules and regulations in the states of assigned territory.
Must have excellent organization, planning and time management skills.Must be able to organize or schedule multiple priorities; to develop realistic action plans while being sensitive to time constraints and resource availability.Must be able to define and prioritize realistic specific goals and objectives.
Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills.
Demonstrates analytical problem solving skills, such as the ability to use a systematic approach in solving problems by identifying the problem, developing a course of action, implementing action to affect a solution, and measuring the effectiveness of the action taken.
Demonstrates advanced presentation skills, including the ability to prepare, organize, develop and present completed materials to an audience.
Must have excellent knowledge of required computer programs/systems, including Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the requirements listed above.
