Due to promotion, SOME is seeking an Administrative professional to join our Development Team, as a Development Assistant. This is an entry level position that would be perfect for someone interested in learning the ins and outs of fundraising. Our Development Team is based out of our headquarters on O Street in the NOMA area of Washington, DC. This convenient location is also Metro accessible.
Position Description: Coordinate and implement the acknowledgment process for gifts at the $1,000+ level, stock gifts, memorials and honorary gifts, monthly giving program, and all fundraising within Development, as needed. Manage workplace giving representation and promotional item supplies. Answer department phone line and check general SOME email daily.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree and 1+ years of clerical, administration management and customer service experience.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience supporting a fundraising department in an administrative capacity.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to present information concisely and effectively
Fundraising: Update, prepare, coordinate, scan and file acknowledgment letters. Track to ensure that they are sent within 48 hours of gift receipt.
Customer Service: Answer department calls/ emails, respond to inquiries within 24 hours and record notes in the database.
Workplace Giving Fairs: Coordinate and represent SOME at workplace giving fairs, talks and other community events and oversee coverage from staff and volunteers.
Administrative Support: Provide administrative support for the department.
Events: Provide support for and at SOME’s annual fundraising events.
