WATER QUALITY GROUP
Danaher`s Water Quality Business is a global leader in water quality analysis and treatment, providing instrumentation and disinfection systems to help analyze and manage the quality of ultra-pure water, portable water, wastewater, groundwater and ocean water in residential, commercial, industrial, and natural resource applications. Our water quality business provides products under a variety of brands, including HACH, ChemTreat, and Trojan Technologies.
The North America Controller is responsible for directing the Hach Finance and Accounting activities for the US and Canada. This includes forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, and coordination of controllership and transaction activities. The position is further responsible for providing financial leadership, guidance and assistance to various functional leaders. This includes conducting financial and business analyses to identify potential problems and recommended solutions, preparing/supporting the development of annual strategic plans and financial budgets, as well as driving working capital and productivity improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordination with the accounting team to support submission of accurate financial statements that are compliant with US GAAP and DHR accounting practices
Develop and maintains forecasting processes that accurately predict future performance and motivates actions to ensure it hits agreed upon target
Drives operational business improvement initiatives on Gross margin, DSO, DPO & operating expenses
Reviews and validates the production, accuracy and timeliness of monthly and quarterly reporting
Drives the use of DBS/ Lean Management Tools and continuous improvement within the Finance organization and the business
Eliminates breaches of internal controls and ensure compliance with Danaher Corporate control and compliance standards
Coordinates program activities for Internal/External Audits, Sarbanes Oxley, Anti-corruption program for the group
Challenges existing processes, systems, reports, data analysis and outputs and implements necessary changes to create a best in class control environment
Partners with broader organization to drive standardizations and continuous improvements
Performs other duties as assigned
Reports to the Hach CFO
Direct supervision to the North American Finance team
Partners with Regional and Operating Company leadership and with Regional Finance and Accounting teams.
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
5 to 10 years of increasing responsibility in various accounting and finance roles
Experience in global, matrix organization a plus
Experience in people management – in managing, developing and coaching a finance team
Ability to effectively partner and influence senior level cross-functional teams
Ability to drive alignment and trade-off decisions across the organization
Experience in implementation of financial accounting systems is a plus
Strong analytical/problem solving skills, strategic thinking and a command of the details
Guide, motivate, and develop direct and indirect teams
Ability to deal with conflict, and manage expectations
Ability to work independently and solve complex problems
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with Oracle, HFM, LucaNet, or similar software a plus
Fluent in English language proficiency
