Design, develop, integrate, test, and release embedded software/firmware for DoD and international waveforms running on multiple tactical combat radio form factors.
Work on engineering teams developing secure voice and data waveforms.
Waveform development includes a wide range of military waveforms such as broadcast combat net radio waveforms, MANET waveforms, and SATCOMM waveforms.
Perform research, design, development and integration activities of embedded software/firmware systems, in conjunction with hardware product development
Apply the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis
Analyze requirements to determine feasibility of design options within time and cost constraints
Consult with electrical or mechanical engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interfaces between hardware and software/firmware, and operational performance requirements of the overall system
Develop software and system testing procedures and documentation
Be responsible for high level and detailed embedded software/firmware design development and documentation preparation
Perform hardware and software system integration
Participate in peer reviews and identify, track, and repair defects
Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics

Preferred Additional Skills:
Interest in embedded software development on General Purpose Processors (GPPs) such as ARM processors or Digital Signal Processors (DSPs)
Knowledge of UML and documenting software/system architecture design
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Familiarity with code and process management tools such as Code Collaborator, DOORS, JIRA, and SVN
Familiarity with disciplined software development process (CMMI)
Familiarity with use of networking protocols such as RIP, OSPF, PIM, BGP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP
Familiarity with POSIX compliant Operating Systems such as Linux
Familiarity with multi-threaded programming
