HOURLY - PT Administrative Support
In this position, you will perform a variety of clerical, information gathering, and record keeping duties for the CSPD (Colorado Springs Police Department) Human Resources Section in the background investigations cadre.

This is a year-round hourly (at-will) position with benefits limited to those required by applicable state and federal laws, which include Worker's Compensation, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, and PERA (Public Employees' Retirement Association).
Normal work hours will vary but be limited to 29 hours per week. Total hours worked will not exceed 1,500 annually.
Essential Job Functions - the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform:
Maintain files for the background investigators
Sort and distribute daily mail for the background investigators
Track and maintain investigation files
Serve as a resource for investigators to find information on candidates via particular databases
Use established procedures to perform criminal history checks
Perform other related duties
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Knowledge of modern office technology
Knowledge of proper English usage, spelling, punctuation, and grammar
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain a detailed schedule
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
This position requires exceptional organizational skills and a high attention to detail.
Successful candidate will have:
A high school diploma or GED
Specialized training or college level coursework in clerical practices, accounting, typing, and/or other related field
One year of full-time clerical or related support experience
Ideal candidates will also have:
Experience with eSOPH or any other background investigations software
Experience providing administrative support for law enforcement
The job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a polygraph examination, extensive background check, and other pre-employment assessments.
