Answering incoming calls, assisting with patient questions, scheduling appointments, or transferring calls to the appropriate person.
Knowledge of PPO, HMO, POS, and EPO plans and insurance verification, typing 45 wpm, and knowledge of EMR systems or DrChrono EMR.
Room patients, take vital signs, take medical history from patient, prepare patients for exam, assist surgeons with procedures (remove staples, sutures, or wound care or rebandaging, and knowledge in drain removal). Manage authorizations for prescription refills, and lab orders, and maintain the clinic medical supply inventory.
Willing to assist with the front desk when front desk person is out or at lunch.
Faxing notes to PCP and working incoming referrals through fax or leading reach.
Call patients with test results or to schedule a follow up appointment.
Qualifications
- Fluent in Spanish and English
- Proficient in conducting vital signs assessments
- Certified Medical Assistant with experience in wound care and general surgery
- Knowledge of medical terminology and EHR systems
- Ability to provide patient care in a bilingual setting
- 2 years experience in a primary or surgical clinic setting
