Under general supervision of the Director, Industrial Engineering, the Industrial Engineering Intern is responsible for providing decision support through financial and situational analysis. This individual carries out business analysis functions to directly support Engineering, Operations, and Linehaul. The intern collaborates with cross-functional departments to gather information and create the appropriate reports to be distributed. Creates and disseminates reporting and analytics to Field Operations and other cross-functional teams as needed. Provides research and analytical support to internal customers including, but not limited to: financial analysis, data analysis, trend identification, as well as monitoring and summarizing the progress of strategic initiatives. Identifies business challenges and opportunities for improvement. Performs ad hoc requests for reports determining operational trends, terminal performance analysis, exception reporting analysis, etc. Assesses current Business Analysis processes and provides recommendations for new methods to enhance analytics for internal customers. Performs other related duties, as required.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Pursuing BS/BA in Engineering, Bus., Inf. Sys., Comp. Sci., or related
- Exp. performing business analysis or financial/statistical data is a plus
- Knowledge of SQL, Tableau, and Power BI is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
