Finance and Accounting Manager -FT (Chicago Northside) –
Patrin Pharma, Inc, is a dynamic, mid-size and growing pharmaceutical company located in Niles – a near north suburb in Chicago, IL. We are looking for an experienced, growth-oriented Senior Accounting and Finance Manager to join our team and manage our financial operations, support executive management, streamline our financial systems and processes, ensure the company’s financial health and growth.
This position is based in Niles, IL and requires on-site presence.
Job Overview
The Accounting and Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial functions within the company. This includes managing all day-to-day financial processes, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and maintaining robust financial systems. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in finance and accounting, with specific expertise in managing and optimizing financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Manage and monitor all day-to-day financial processes. Prepare regular P&L, balance sheets, and other statements. Manage period end closing. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other standards.
- Financial Systems and Data Management: Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of financial management software. Ensure systems are efficient, accurate, and meet the needs of the business.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Supervise the processing of accounts payable and receivable. Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and payment processing. Manage overall A/R and A/P.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, record all financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Cost Management and Allocation: Develop and maintain systems for allocating costs to products for pricing and profitability analysis. Track costs for key items and Identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Inventory Management: Coordinate with the operations team to manage inventory levels and reconcile inventory across systems, ensuring sufficient supply while minimizing excess stock. Optimize inventory turnover rates. Analyze demand and create purchase orders. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
- Contract and Vendor Management: Manage contracts for key services and outsourced functions, such as space, insurance, benefits, IT, Medicaid processing etc.
- Financial Processes and Controls: Establish and maintain financial processes and internal controls to safeguard company assets and conduct reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Operational and Financial Performance Monitoring: Monitor operational performance using business metrics and financial analysis. Ensure that performance goals are met and communicate success to stakeholders.
- Technology Management: Oversee the technology infrastructure, ensuring it supports business processes effectively. Stay updated with new technology trends and recommend solutions that benefit the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 2 years in a management role. Experience in a small or mid-size company is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software – QuickBooks or similar financial management systems with advanced Excel skills and Access and SQL experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in using advanced Microsoft Office tools and business improvement tools like MS BI, Tableau, etc.
- Self-starter with a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and systems.
- Ability to interpret large quantities of complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present financial information clearly and concisely
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
