Job Description e-Bike/e-Scooter Service Technician:
Denago eBikes is searching for an eBike/eScooter Service Technician who can build relationships with people who trust you to keep their gear running flawlessly. Able to handle customer service phone call requests with professionalism and respect. Learn and master our existing and new products. Ability to understand customers' service issues and concerns and recommend repairs. Possess excellent communication skills, accountability, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Expertly diagnose and troubleshoot critical eBike/eScooter components such as the battery, controller, and motor and several accessory components such as displays, throttles, and PAS sensors. Can provide technical repair and service work for e-bike/e-scooters in a facility or the field. Assemble/disassemble, repair, and service a wide range of models of e-Bikes/e-Scooters. Accurately perform the diagnostic review, repair, and replacement of parts and the assembly/disassembly of units. This role reports to the Bike Customer Service Manager.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the eBike and eScooter are in good working order and are correctly diagnosed if any problems arise.
- Ability to repair, replace or service all components of the eBike/eScooter.
- Installing new hardware and complex products while ensuring that they work correctly and safely
- Educating the hardware users about the correct use and upkeep of their products
- Repairing broken-down or damaged equipment either in the field or at a diagnostic and repair center
- Assessing hardware and installation functionality and preparing reports about maintenance and repair work that they have performed
- Persuading customers to invest in necessary replacements or vital repairs to key components and hardware devices
- Handling customer relations in a professional and friendly manner
- Explaining complex installation, diagnostic, and repair issues in a way that’s accessible to a non-technical audience
- Installing new hardware and complex products while ensuring that they work correctly and safely
- Service technicians typically work for different types of hardware or machinery manufacturers, distributors, or installation companies.
- Capable of performing installation, maintenance, and repair work on complex machines and devices in the field or a repair facility.
- They use their knowledge of the devices they handle to ensure that they’re working correctly and are professionally installed for their buyers.
- Explaining complex installation, diagnostic, and repair issues in a way that’s accessible to a non-technical audience.
Service technician skills and qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience in the bicycle industry REQUIRED. Professional certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of basic electronics and mechanical subassembly.
- Able to handle customer service calls with professionalism and respect.
- Can read and interpret schematic drawings and diagrams.
- Excellent technical and working knowledge of eBikes/eScooters.
- Positive, team-focused mentality, plus a willingness to pitch in on any task
- Warm and approachable with great listening skills and a willingness to help customers and team members.
- Top-level communication skills with impressive attention to detail and a passion for problem-solving.
