Under general supervision, performs difficult and responsible clerical functions. Assists in the daily operation of the Office
of the Assistant Commissioner of the Safety & Emissions Division including drafting routine letters/memos for the Assistant Commissioner as well as answering telephone, screening calls and visitors, scheduling meetings and answering questions from the public and staff members. Maintains a schedule of appointments for the Assistant Commissioner and prepares agendas and calendars for meetings. Prioritizes work assignments to meet deadlines, organize, maintain and continually update files to improve efficiency and accessibility. Also maintains various reports for the Assistant Commissioner. The candidate selected will be responsible for but not limited to:
Perform Data Entry into the TAMIS Mainframe System and the Inspection System; Filing, record keeping and other general office work of moderate difficulty. The unit generates requested reports in a timely manner; performs data entry functions as required; promptly responds to all inquiries and requests from various members of the Taxi industry and TLC personnel outside the unit. Additional duties will include streamlining administrative processes to ensure that responses to internal agency requests are complied with. Interact with the taxi industry and the general public.
Minimum Qual Requirements
A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and one year of satisfactory clerical experience.
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per minute.
