The Lancaster Education Foundation(LEF) is seeking an Executive Director. Working in partnership with the Program Manager and the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will spearhead development and marketing efforts for LEF. The Director will have the opportunity to build the development and marketing function.

Responsibilities:
Develop and execute LEF’s annual fundraising plan, including seeking out and pursuing appropriate grant opportunities
Develop a marketing strategy for LEF, and create ongoing marketing communication with the LEF donor base
Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations
Utilize GiftWorks to maintain donor database
Manage the execution of Aplos (or a comparable non-profit financial accounting system that tracks the collection and distribution of fundraising efforts)
Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors
Maintain a strong and beneficial working relationship with the School District of Lancaster (SDoL) administration
Create and execute a strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors
Oversee organization of special events
Develop and track proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising
Work collaboratively with all levels of SDoL management, School Board, Federal/State/Local agencies, families and the community.

Job duties:
Develop marketing materials for LEF, such as Newsletters, email blasts, etc.
Research, identify and contact potential donors
Create a strong fundraising message that appeals to potential donors
Market a campaign or event that will result in receiving donations
Maintain records of donor information for future use
Evaluate the success of previous fundraising events
Train volunteers in fundraising procedures and practices
Work with staff and Executive Committee in preparing a budget and ensure that LEF operates within budget guidelines
Provide Executive Committee and Board with monthly operating statement

Qualifications:
BA/BS (preferred)
Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills, including excellent writing and creative design skills
Knowledge of Aplos (or other Non-Profit Accounting software), GiftWorks (Donor recordkeeping software)
Minimum of 5 years of comprehensive fundraising and grant writing experience (preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a for-profit or not-for-profit organization (preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of leadership preferable with experience in education and philanthropy (preferred)
