Teen Excursion Camp Leaders are needed to take school age children on daily field trips and provide leadership in all aspects of the excursions. You must be 21 years of age, high school graduate plus taken college courses in childcare development, recreation or related field. Certifications in First Aid & CPR are preferred and you must have a good driving record. This position will sometimes be required to drive a 15-passenger City van. You must submit your driving record (which may be obtained from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles) with your application. Salary is $15.11 per hour. Schedule will vary weekly from June 17 – August 30, 2019.
Extended Care Counselors are needed to assist the Extended Care Director in operating the Before & After Care program for children 5-12 years of age. You must be 18 years of age. Courses completed in child development and experience leading children’s playgroups are desired. Salary: Starting at $13 per hour, between 25-30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, June 18 – August 23, 2019.
Playground Counselors are needed to assist the Playground Director in operating the Summer Fun Playground program for children 5-12 years of age. You must be 18 years of age. Courses completed in child development and experience leading children’s playgroups are desired. Salary: $11.21 per hour, between 30-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, June 17 – August 9, 2019.
Water Safety Instructors are needed to teach children swimming, supervise camp swim sessions and adapted aquatics volunteers. Must be 18 years of age, and have Pool Operator, Red Cross WSI and American Red Cross Lifeguard Certifications. Salary is $16/hr; Depending on Qualifications, work hours 25-30 hours per week, June 18 – August 9, 2019.
