Responsibilities:
The Lab Courier Dispatcher is responsible for receiving and coordinating to conclusion requests for specimen pick-up from laboratory internal and external customers. Under the direction of the department supervisor and manager, is responsible for properly dispatching calls to the appropriate couriers on duty and documenting all calls in the appropriate Gajema console. Exercises discretionary judgment in solving problems and working with employees. Uses working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws, techniques, procedures, and general principles and practices of courier services. Fills in as needed for STAT and routine couriers.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. .
Experience: Customer service and familiarity with the department service area road system required. One year of laboratory courier experience preferred. Dispatching experience preferred. Healthcare experience with some medical terminology preferred.
