Associate Director of Logistics is responsible for establishing, implementing, leading, aligning, and monitoring company carrier programs, policies, and processes to assure prompt, cost effective transportation, while partnering closely with various functions across the organization including Pharmacy Operations, Front-End Operations, Customer Service, Automation / Engineering / Maintenance, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, Compliance / Risk, Human Capital, Legal, Pharmacy Practice, Facilities/Real Estate, Security Services, and vendors. This position will provide strategic and tactical direction and leadership for Logistics. Create carrier standard operating procedures (SOPs), apply accountability standards based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), implement change to continuously improve processes, and accountable for delivering on financial objectives. This position will provide coaching, mentoring and support in the development of staff and recognize individual and team success that result in a high-level of team engagement and commitment.
Build a Logistics organizational structure that supports the capabilities of the following principal duties and responsibilities. Will manage logistics systems and processes at multiple locations
Provide leadership in onboarding and transitioning organizations from M&A activities into a common Logistics platform
Lead all efforts to improve cost and service improvements with carriers, couriers and private fleet by utilizing modeling and costing systems
Will be responsible and accountable for an annual spend in excess of $200M
Work closely with multiple venders and department functions to establish and meet Logistics objectives defined by existing and evolving opportunities to maximize spend for patient deliveries
Lead efforts for continued improvement and utilization of TMS systems, to include enhanced shipment information, transportation costing, and transportation reporting to enhance overall P&L accuracy. Improvements will also include auditing and use of freight payment systems as well as recovery through claims
Lead the strategy for developing a culture of continuous improvement and best practices to ensure service improvements, effective auditing, use of best method of shipment
Lead all efforts to improve medication packaging to assure product safety and quality to enhance patient satisfaction
Partner with the Loss Prevention organization to identify and investigate carrier losses, missing / lost packages, potential carrier or consumer theft or fraud, carrier accountability, potential prosecution, and remittance for losses
Analyze areas of distribution opportunity’s utilizing current reporting or through development of new reporting in partnership with BIOS team
Conduct regular business reviews with vender operations, finance, and others to report performance, progress, and achievement of Logistics and financial objectives
Work with field and support leadership, Supply Chain, Engineering, Pharmacy Practice, Quality, and site teams, to ensure processes of shipping and manifesting are adhered to
Develop and coordinate all Logistics communication, training, budgeting/ resource allocation and event planning
Develop and implement a strategy of a safe loading and product movement is in place at all locations. Assure all carriers support load out processes
Represent Logistics to all levels of the organization
Represent Logistics to all external agencies / organizations and other miscellaneous organizations, providing requested reporting around internal/external cost and service requirements
Represent Logistics on all client-facing and member issues
Collaborate across HD / Specialty organizations to recommend and implement changes / enhancements to improve member experience and HD/Specialty NPS

Partner with Human Capital on employee issues / concerns, consistent application and adherence of policies, hiring, talent planning, promotions, corrective action, termination, IDRs, safe and secure plans, and other employee relations
In partnership with Compensation, Human Capital, and SVP HD Ops, develop LP employee incentive program, and monitor, and communicate monthly progress and quarterly results
4 year college degree
6+ years of experience leading in Logistics, Distribution environment
Experience working in small parcel environment
Experience in contract negotiations
Experience with transportation management systems, and packaging engineering
Master’s Degree or equivalent
Experience leading in a highly regulated industry
Certifications: Six Sigma Black or Green Belt
