Title: Senior Commercial Real Estate Relationship Manager
Territory: Greater Washington Metro region
Originate, underwrite, negotiate, close and service commercial real estate loans of generally large dollar amount and high complexity.
Provide a high level of customer service to both an existing and targeted prospective customer base, attending to the needs of commercial real estate clients seeking construction loans, bridge loans and credit facilities that involve originating and underwriting new loans.
Participate in the risk management of the existing portfolio based on departmental objectives, including the timely resolution of delinquencies and being aware of early signs for a potential loan downgrade recommendation.
Work closely with Credit Officer, Group Manager and Portfolio Manager to share client and market trends to maximize synergies and communication within a team environment.
Ensure annual reviews, covenant compliance and loan modifications/extensions are completed in accordance with Bank policy.
Execute on an annual plan that involves established goals for client sales calls, loan production, fees collected and revenues created cross-selling a myriad of Bank products and services to clients to develop new business and increase share of wallet with key clients.
Continuously elevate the Bank’s brand in the market by attending customer and prospect events, engaging with COIs and distributing targeted thought leadership.
Ongoing surveillance responsibilities of an assigned loan portfolio that may involve restructuring adversely-graded loans and foreclosing on problem loans, to ensure the Bank maximizes loan principal and interest repayment and minimizes any charge-offs.
Perform ongoing duties such as market analysis due diligence to assess market supply/demand dynamics, interacting with customers relating to the LIBOR to SOFR transition, and assisting with special projects such as recruiting and other important Bank initiatives.
Scope of Responsibilities:
The position has extensive contact with customers and targeted prospects, extending credit and cross-selling Bank products and services.
Interaction with internal Debt Capital Markets team on larger transactions requiring syndication and sell down strategies where the Bank serves as the Admin Agent.
Frequent communication with internal Credit officer on loan structuring and portfolio surveillance findings, legal counsel to coordinate loan closings, interaction with a Portfolio Manager to service existing credits and consulting with Loan Review and Special Assets on any troubled loan strategies.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in work experience.
Seven years commercial real estate lending experience.
Working knowledge of personal computers and software utilized by department.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an orientation toward customer service.
Ability to interact with all levels of organizational and client personnel.
Credit analysis and loan structuring skills.
Familiarity with originating and structuring Residential AD&C loans would be considered a plus.
