Job Responsibilities

As a Diesel Mechanic, working as an Assembler with PMG, you will perform a full range of assembly duties – both sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Our clients manufacturing components, systems and machinery/equipment for a variety of industries including agricultural, off-highway, and heavy equipment, as well as aerospace and locomotive/rail.

Your specific duties in this role will include:
  • Performing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or electrical assembly of small and large components/systems
  • Reading and working from blueprints, work orders and specification documents as well as schematics
  • Performing in-process as well as pre- and post-process inspection operations, using precision gauges

Job Requirements

We are looking for journeyman-level Diesel Mechanics with the expertise and professionalism to perform exceptionally well and with minimal guidance in any given maintenance situation. You will need to have the initiative and hands-on experience to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment quickly and efficiently to minimize down-time. You must also be an excellent communicator with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and management.

Specific qualifications for the role include:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience diagnosing and troubleshooting machine and engine malfunctions and failures
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting and assembly, per print/work order/instruction/manuals
  • Experience performing work on various types of Diesel Equipment: Heavy Equipment, Trucks, Military Equipment, etc.
  • Knowledge and ability with mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic systems, electrical a plus
  • The ability to travel and commit to assignments ranging from 6 months to 1 year
  • Ability to pass an in-depth background check and drug screening
  • Ability to work 2nd and 3rd shifts, including overtime for the duration of the assignment (60+ hours/week)
  • Experience tearing down, inspecting, cleaning, changing out, and reassembling diesel engines, including high horsepower (15-78 liter) engines, preferred
