The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll which includes setting up new hire schedules, reviewing timesheets, setting up and tracking garnishments, calculating retro pay based on anniversary date, processing withholding forms and Paid Annual Leave (PAL) payout for terminated employees, and answering inquiries of employees. In addition, this position will reconcile 403B and submit file to bank, prepare MD unemployment multiple worksite report, processes reconciliation of taxes quarterly as well as preparation and distribution of W2, 1094C and 1095C (Employer Provided Health Insurance Offer and Coverage Form). Frequent communication outside of the work group is required to resolve disagreements, reach agreements and clarify issues/processes. Responsibility exists to ensure that internal customers are satisfied with service. Communication with external contacts is for providing or receiving factual information. Courtesy and tact are required in dealing with customers.
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with Baltimore Medical System Core Values, policies/ procedures and applicable civil laws. Is accountable for efficient use of resources and support of the BMS mission.
Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent in Business Administration/Accounting from two year college or technical school OR
Five (5) years of related work experience as substitute to AA degree
2 years of experience in processing payroll.
2 years as stated using Kronos payroll module.
Part Time Payroll Specialist for Baltimore Medical System, the largest communty health center in Maryland. Work schedule is Monday & Tuesday 8:30am to 5:00pm and Wednesday 8:30am to 12:30pm.
