The Sr. Game Designer will help drive the overall design for one or more mobile casual games for iOS & Android platforms. The candidate will primarily work with 3rd party development teams and communicate design requirements, create and review design documentation, regularly play builds, and provide clear actionable feedback to the 3rd party team. The candidate must be open to travel if necessary to work directly with the development team.

To successfully execute the role, the candidate must have excellent communication skills and problem solving ability. The candidate should be able to easily telescope their focus from a macro product level to the specific feature details at a micro level. The candidate will communicate ongoing design developments and demo the game to studio leadership to show off latest developments and key features. They must oversee design for internal playtesting and usability tests, and work closely with the Product Manager to define key features, beta testing goals, live operation strategy, and content updates.

The candidate must be able to take notes from multiple sources and be able to incorporate the feedback into revised game content and features. Bachelor’s Degree Experience with match 3 games Experience with Unity Affinity for Disney/Pixar is a plus 4+ years of game industry experience 2+ years of experience designing mobile games as a Senior Designer At least one mobile game shipped as a Senior Designer 2+ years of experience designing F2P casual puzzle games 1+ year of experience working with 3rd party development teams Passion for video games a must! Excellent communication skills as needed (verbal, written, excel, diagrams, etc.) Ability to clearly communicate to team members from different professional backgrounds (art, tech, production, etc.) Understanding of casual puzzle mechanics, content design, and meta systems Thorough understanding of games’ commercial appeal, and motivations to different player demographics Deep experience in game design theory & game production processes Working knowledge for free-to-play (F2P) game revenue models Takes accountability and ownership of projects from start to finish Problem solver, results oriented, self-motivated and disciplined Able to multi-task like a pro Ability to take direction Drive the overall vision for a free-to-play (F2P) mobile puzzle game from concept, development through live operations Daily coordination and communication with 3rd party development team Open to travel as needed Drive successful implementation of game features Create relevant game design documentation, and review all design documents provided by 3rdparty and ensure they are sufficient detail and support the overall product vision Regularly review builds, features and content to ensure they are built to specs. Oversee design responsibilities for internal playtesting and usability tests Partner with internal Producer and Product Manager on prioritization of features Help take concepts from 3rd party team to complete game designs Present builds, new features, and designs to executive leadership and stakeholders Continually research market trends, and incorporate up-to-the-minute features and strategies.
