The Survey Researcher role will focus primarily on ECI’s Global Business Ethics Survey, a large-scale survey conducted annually to provide both content and normative benchmarks. The GBES is a longitudinal, cross-sectional study of integrity in the workplace from the employee’s perspective. Through the GBES, employees are surveyed on the strength of the ethics culture in their workplace, the instances of misconduct that they have observed, and what—if any—efforts are underway in their organization to promote integrity. The Survey Researcher will be primarily responsible for outlining the GBES survey methodology, managing the data collection effort with various vendors and developing a detailed analysis and data dissemination plan. The person in this position will work closely with senior leadership and other team members to shape the direction of the research and resulting content ensuring that it is consumable by a variety of audiences. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the research process, data analysis, data visualization and the ability to use storytelling techniques with research content. Experience in conducting research on workplace topics is considered an asset.
Lead the questionnaire development for ECI’s annual GBES integrating perspectives from academic literature and trending ethics & compliance topics.
Determine the appropriate research plan and protocols including but not limited to assessing suitable methods to collect quantitative and qualitative data in a variety of countries.
Collect, validate and clean large volumes of structured and unstructured data using statistical analysis software and coding.
Conduct descriptive and advanced statistical analysis. Develop statistical models and/or tests to analyze data.
Produce research content at consistent intervals with the ability to manage independently short- and long-term deadlines.
Deliver data-driven research insights through a variety of content formats including written reports and infographics.
Utilize data for storytelling and the development of easy to grasp data visualizations and other graphical representations of data.
Effectively communicate and present research findings to a variety of audiences.
Develop and maintain a database of global ethics data that is easily accessible by a variety of stakeholders.
Provide insight on approaches for aligning the GBES survey with other ECI surveys and assessments.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to devise, build and implement or integrate solutions that advance technology roadmaps and organizational strategies.
The desired qualifications:
Master’s degree in psychology, statistics, data science or related field or equivalent experience.
A minimum of three years of relevant analytical work experience.
Expertise in interpreting and reporting research results for a variety of audiences.
Advanced proficiency in SPSS or similar statistical software package, including expertise in the application of coding techniques for statistical analysis.
Understanding of advanced statistical techniques including factor analysis, regression, weighting adjustment techniques, decision trees, segmentation and other intelligent decision models used to analyze response behaviors, interaction patterns and propensity.
Experience with manipulation of large-scale data sets, analytic tools and short cuts through syntax and programming.
Experience working in a fast-paced agile deadline driven delivery environment.
Strong analytical skills, communication skills, critical-thinking skills, problem-solving skills and the ability to focus on details.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage large-scale projects.
Background in ethics & compliance topics, HR and workplace topics, etc. strongly desired.
Knowledge of big data, data science, and predictive analytics a plus.
