File all electronic referral records into patient charts, review new patient records to send to appropriate scheduling team or provider for review. Obtain additional records from the referring provider if requested by Neurology provider. Be the new patient educator and communicate with potential patients the process for scheduling and keeping them update on their record status. Send new patient denials to referring offices when requested by Neurology provider.
Review incoming electronic faxes and distribute to the appropriate section for scheduling.
Answer a high volume of incoming calls and serve as a liaison between patients, section administrative staff, and healthcare professionals.
Mail appropriate paperwork to all patients including health history form, reminder letter, and correct clinic map. Verify and update all demographic, insurance, diagnosis, referring physician and meaningful use information. Register patients for the online patient portal.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week.

Position is a New Patient Coordinator for Centralized Scheduling in the department of Adult and Pediatric Neurology. The position is responsible for reviewing, filing, and distributing a high volume of new patient records to the appropriate scheduling section. This position is required to ensure all required medical documentation is in place prior to scheduling. The position will also take a high volume of calls to educate potential new patients the process for scheduling a new patient appointment within the department.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
High School diploma with 2 years of experience in a medical office setting or related customer service/office experience.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and working knowledge of insurance and financial options.
The hiring range for this position is $15.24 - $18.68 per hour.
