Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be able to apply software engineering principles and methods to assist in performing a variety of tasks related to planning
  • must be able to create logical and functional software code in Java and Javascript
  • Must have experience reacting to problems and correcting the program as necessary
  • Conduct and coordinate analysis of functional business applications
  • designing software specifications for service oriented architecture objects, applications and enterprise service bus to meet customer requirements
  • Conceptualize, develop and implement a wide variety of program designs.
  • Test, debug and refine software to meet customer requirements
  • Evaluates operational activities and determines methods for productivity improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is responsible for supervising all staff positions.

Education, Qualifications and Experience

  • This is a contract specific position and requires eligibility for public trust clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other Engineering or technical discipline is required.
  • 8 years’ experience in related industry strongly preferred
  • 8 years additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material and information.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and other Microsoft programs.
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.

· Experience with some or all the following technologies: Java, J2EE, JSP, Servlets, JDBC; HTML, JavaScript, CSS; XML, XSD, XSLT, Web Service technologies including SOAP and WSDL

· Experience with Agile with Scrum software development methodologies are highly desired

· Software development skills, including design, development, testing, deployment and support.

· Web service design, testing and implementation preferred

· Java, Spring, J2EE, BEA Web Logic Tuxedo, Oracle 11g preferred

· J2EE - EJB, JMS, JCA, JTA, JDBC, Persistence/Hibernate, HTTP/SOAP, XSD, JAXB, and XSLT preferred

· WebLogic - JMS, EJB, and Web Services preferred

· Knowledge of Web Services Interoperability, WS- standards and ability to suggest, criticize and formulate solutions during architectural meetings preferred

  • Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of clients, management, employees, vendors, etc.
  • Must have strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, as well as the ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Experience with government reporting requirements and implementing cost control over complex projects.
  • Ability to work independently with substantial latitude for action or decision.
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to constant change.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, as required to meet deadlines.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems while considering a variety of variables specific to the situation. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule form.

Salary: $105,000.00 to $120,000.00 /year
