Provide exceptional customer service to end users. Use discretion and independent judgment to address and resolve technology issues. Install hardware, software, and network in an industrial environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support for desktops, laptops, printers, handheld devices, CCTV, access control and other hardware equipment at assigned location.
- Test hardware and software and make necessary changes to correct problems.
- Provide remote support and troubleshooting.
- Install, upgrade, troubleshoot, and repair network connections.
- Ensure continuous improvement by proactively working on preventive maintenance plans and IT automation.
- Keep documentation current by documenting changes and contributing to knowledge base articles.
- Identify, track and manage technology issues using available service desk tools.
- Work closely with the rest of the IT department to resolve issues and improve system performance at the assigned location.
- As part of the IT group, establish, develop and grow all business relationships critical to the success of IT and technical support.
- Consult with end users to ensure each problem is resolved to their satisfaction.
- Interact with other NA IT members to restore service and/or identify and resolve core issues.
- Simulate or recreate end user problems to resolve operational difficulties.
- Perform daily processes according to policy (backups, reports, documentation, and daily routines).
- Work with manager to achieve team goals and initiatives.
- Use independent judgment to determine which issues need to be escalated to management, vendors, or suppliers.
- Provide support to other Gestamp facilities as needed.
- Support the company's mission, vision, values and goals in the performance of daily activities.
- Follow all state, federal, OSHA and Gestamp health, safety, environmental laws, regulations policies and procedures.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the work area.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
- Help Desk/ Network support experience.
- 2-year degree in an IT support related discipline is preferred.
- Electrical, Network installation experience preferred
Education & Experience:
- Desktop support experience.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and MS Office applications.
- Working familiarity with Ethernet, WIFI and TCP/IP.
- Familiarity with Linux.
- Hardware / Software setup & maintenance.
- Network Printer Management.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand, remember and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Technical reading and writing
