The HSE coordinator is the primary site-specific health, safety, environmental, and training resource for their area facilities, and works closely with the regional HSE team on larger region and company-wide initiatives. This role will be based out of our Florida Avenue facility in New Orleans, LA.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversight of multiple facility HSE performance and programs
  • Maintaining consistent presence on facilities to reinforce safe and compliant working environment and facilitate accident prevention
  • Conducting regular audits as required by regulatory agencies and corporate policy
  • Conducting initial and annual training on required topics
  • Conducting training and evaluations on heavy equipment operation
  • Leading and/or assisting in incident investigations
  • Ensure timely update of facility policies as required (LOTO, HazCom, etc.)
  • Maintain compliance with air and NPDES permits through
  • Collecting and submit water samples
  • Monitoring permit renewal requirements and assisting in applications
  • Conducting regular inspections required by permit
  • Assisting in updating SWPPPs and SPCCs
  • Facilitate scheduling of IH monitoring
  • Use computer program to conduct and track progress of audits, corrective actions, incident investigation, and training
  • Produce board reports, safety meetings, and track data using Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Publisher

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Environmental Health, , Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering or equivalent course of study preferred
  • Must have five years HSE(Q) experience in an industrial environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability self motivate to meet deadlines and manage multiple concurrent tasks
  • Intermediate proficiency in basic computer programs; (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.)
  • Experience in educating, training, and conducting meetings
  • Performing incident investigations and root-cause analysis
  • Familiarity with heavy mobile equipment operation
  • Relevant training certification such as OSHA 501, OSHA 511, Forklift Train the Trainer, etc. preferred but not required (job will include opportunity to acquire)
  • Spanish language skills preferred but not required
