POSITION PURPOSE / SUMMARY STATEMENT (defines the major functions/purpose of the position):

Reporting into the Manager, Learning & Organizational Development, the Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist - Retail acts as a highly visible ambassador of the ASICS brand and is constantly representing the brand’s philosophy, vision and values. You will work in a highly collaborative, cross-functional capacity within the HR team, and with various business partners across the organization. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and sustaining learning and development initiatives for ASICS Direct to Consumer/Retail employees. You will develop a holistic view of performance problems, identify root causes, and suggest and develop and/or deliver learning-based solutions that align to organizational goals and objectives. You will also foster employee engagement and professional growth within the ASICS America teams.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (include titles of positions directly reporting to this position):

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Interacts with all levels throughout organization including employees and outside vendors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Builds strong, collaborative partnerships across various levels within the organization both in AAC as well as global regional partners.
Takes a proactive approach to conduct needs assessments by evaluating knowledge, skill levels and organizational situations to determine performance gaps and appropriate training and development solutions.
Develops and maintains learning & development content, materials, programs and resources, both off and online, covering various topics including but not limited to: product, employee development, manager and leadership development, career growth.
Oversees and manages the online learning management system (LMS) through Success Factors and partnership with external content provider, including but not limited to the employee participation, communication, reporting and tracking and overall user experience strategies.
Collaborates with DTC and HR partners on specific projects to identify training and development needs as well as ensure training content is in compliance with law changes and company policies.
Keeps up with new and innovative learning & development approaches in design, delivery and implementation methods.
Researches, evaluates, negotiates with applicable outside vendors and resources.
Plans, organizes and facilitates group training workshops and sessions for New Hires & existing employees.
Facilitates formal and informal learning using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role-playing, job simulations, team exercises, group discussions, and multimedia that engage the learner, encourages participation, and ensures learning transfer.
Evaluates and measures training effectiveness to determine evolutions, conclusions and recommendations on future training needs and solutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years’ experience in a Training/Learning/Talent/Organizational Development related role in a corporate or retail environment.
Demonstrated experience providing training in a retail environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Organizational Development, HR, and Communication related field. Additional certifications in related areas a plus.
Experience in designing, developing and implementing training content and materials (on & offline) on various topics.
Experience using SuccessFactors learning management system (LMS) platform desired.
Experience with additional creative, development tools preferred (Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator; Prezi, eLearning development software (Articulate, Rise, etc.).
