Company Description

Beaver Paper is run by hands-on owners with dynamic expansion plans to significantly increase the size of the business over the next few years. Beaver Paper is seeking a Lead Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance Technician for the Converting and Paper Machine areas at its Headquarters located in Lawrenceville, GA. This position will test, maintain, and calibrate automated, servo-mechanical, or electromechanical equipment. This position is Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm with occasional overtime as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots and maintains production and any associated equipment to ensure highest reliability, proper line performance, and safe operation.
  • Applies PM programs.
  • Can use electrical test equipment and instruments
  • Reads blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
  • Installs and repairs equipment using soldering, welding, and hand tools
  • Aligns, fits, or assembles component parts using hand or power tools, fixtures, and templates
  • Verifies part dimensions or clearances to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
  • Communicates required materials/supplies to procurement department.
  • Repairs, reworks, hydraulic or pneumatic assemblies or systems to meet operational specifications or tolerances.

Qualifications:

  • 2 -3 years of relevant work experience
  • Basic knowledge of machine controls
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of complex hydraulics, electrical, computer and mechanical systems, arc, and oxygen acetylene welding, test equipment used to diagnose and repair equipment and electronic components of machinery.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information from schematics, technical manuals, technical drawings, technical procedures.
  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment safely to diagnose, adjust, and repair malfunctions; follow oral and written instructions; read and understand operators and repair manuals; work cooperatively with others; work with minimal supervision and keep all required records.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is typically performed in a manufacturing environment around equipment. The incumbent will work with oil, grease, chemicals and machinery. Incumbents may also be exposed to noise levels that require hearing protection. Safety shoes are also required in the manufacturing and warehouse areas.
