TGW Systems US has two main sales channels: mechanical subsystems for Distributors (Location Norton Shores, MI – Distributor Business) and fully integrated solutions, mainly for companies in the apparel, grocery and maintenance repair and operation (MRO) sectors (Location Grand Rapids, MI – Integrated Systems Business).

The Accounting Manager is directly responsible and actively manages various accounting functions including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue, asset accounting, as well as monthly reporting. This role is expected to evaluate and make improvements to accounting processes while ensuring practices comply with parent company accounting policies. To be successful the person must clearly demonstrate a sense of urgency in delivering accurate, timely, and consistent accounting results and must be organized and detailed oriented.

Technical Skills and Job Specific Tasks:
Responsible for supervising accounting processes including AP, AR, invoicing, intercompany reconciliations, balance sheet, bank reconciliations, sales commissions, sales tax, and fixed assets
Directly responsible to ensure month end close runs smoothly by proactively identifying issues, communicating, recording journal entries, balancing accounts, and managing the regular activities of the accounting department
Work closely with project controllers to ensure accounting structure, job cost, POC revenue, payment plans, client invoicing, and project provisions are accurate
Oversee the posting and maintenance of the general ledger, including project accounting structure, changes in policies and procedures, and reflection of organizational changes
Provide financial statements including monthly income statements, balance sheet, and actual to budget analysis
Primary contact and support to external audit providing information for audit inquiries
Complete other duties as assigned
Work with direct reports to establish annual performance objectives as well as monitoring and advising on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree of Accounting or a related field, or equivalent business experience, CPA preferred
At least 8 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including 3 years managing a team
Project accounting / POC experience preferred
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with advanced working knowledge of Excel
MS Navision and SAP ERP experience
Public accounting and strong knowledge of IFRS a plus
