The Applications Lab interfaces with Sales, Marketing and Research & Development to provide dynamic market intelligence and to support our customers as needed. Activities will include testing composites and hygiene articles that use superaborbent polymers and the superabsorbents themselves to provide data to both internal and external customers. Additional responsibilities include supporting the design technology laboratory team in producing and evaluating experimental absorbent structures.


Contribute to, plan and/or design research projects to: develop a fundamental understanding of superabsorbent polymers in absorbent structures or the structures themselves, explore new test methods to evaluate such polymers or structures, or analyze specific product performance and/or performance trends. Be able to lead such a project.
Perform laboratory experiments, measurements, product characterizations and evaluate results
Work closely with external customers on joint research projects and provide reports/technical support to external customers.
Provide technical support for internal customers/projects.
Write monthly and/or technical reports. Provide data and pertinent information for technical presentations.
Supervise junior laboratory personnel as needed to meet the group goals.
Is responsible for providing support to the Design Technology production process.
Coordinates and conducts projects related to production and testing of experimental absorbent structures.


Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biology, Process Technology or another related science. A person with a higher education may reduce the experience requirements listed below. Experience in other areas of technology may be considered, i.e., if lacking the education requirements, at the discretion of the Manager.
At least 3 years of previous experience in the field of production of hygiene products, machine operation, or in a chemical and/or analytical laboratory is preferred
A team player with good communication skills, and willingness to work in a global team setting is required
Some supervisory responsibilities are preferred
Some mechanical aptitude is preferred
Experience with conveying equipment and machinery is preferred
Detailed knowledge in Superabsorber Chemistry and/or Disposable Hygiene Articles preferred
Some computer skills, Microsoft Office (excel, power point, statistical software) are preferred)
