JOB SUMMARY/GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under direction of Sr. Benefits and Wellness Manager, performs a variety of professional, technical and analytical activities in support of Cavaliers Holdings, LLC’s benefit programs and wellbeing initiatives. Performs basic plan administration and interprets policies for team members on a regular basis. Coordinates wellbeing activities throughout the year as recommended by the wellbeing committee. Assists HR team to plan team member engagement events throughout the year and takes lead on annual United Way campaign. Access to confidential and sensitive information daily.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in the administration of the company benefit programs including health, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts Life/LTD plans and company 401(k). Acts as a liaison to carriers; troubleshoots claims and coverage problems for team members.
Works with carriers and insurance broker to prepare and develop hard copy and virtual education materials for team members to address benefit changes or compliance issues, and updates benefit guide and intranet as necessary.
Meets with new benefit eligible team members to review benefit offerings. Processes new team member enrollments and changes and departing team member benefit terminations.
Updates UltiPro with team member deduction information for new enrollees and discontinuance of coverage and performs monthly audits of changes.
Completes monthly insurance billing including breakdown of all departments’ benefit costs based on team member participation, reconciles invoices, and requests checks in timely manner.
Assists with the annual open enrollment process including the development of open enrollment materials and monitoring the enrollment process schedule to ensure timely and accurate open enrollment completion.
Assists with administration of the wellbeing program including but not limited to coordinating lunch and learns, onsite or offsite fitness classes, wellbeing challenges and maintaining discount opportunities.
Coordinates annual health screenings and flu shot clinics with carrier and assists in updating team member discounts on an annual basis.
Manages Leave of Absences for all team members, maintains FMLA compliance with documentation, and assures restricted duty forms are completed. Works with team leaders on updates for team members on leave and returning to work with restrictions.
Leads annual United Way campaign by managing committee, events and team member pledges.
Assists with workers’ compensation process by logging team member incidents and sending incident acknowledgement letters.
Education/Experience: B.S. or B.A. degree from an accredited institution, preferably with special focus in Human Resource Management or related field. Two to four years of Human Resources benefits administration, or similar, experience. PHR, SHRM-CP or CEBS certification is a plus. Must be computer literate, with experience in word processing, spreadsheet (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc) and HRIS database software (UltiPro and Cognos reporting preferred). Familiarity with ABI timekeeping a plus. Other: Working knowledge of basic principles and practices of HR administration, with special emphasis on state and federal regulations which affect benefits (e.g., COBRA, ACA, FMLA, ERISA). Excellent abilities with detail work, with emphasis on thoroughness, accuracy and follow through. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Solid oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, including management and leadership. Must be able to work independently and exercise initiative and good judgment; deal effectively with time pressures despite numerous interruptions; organize and prioritize work to allow for efficient handling of workload; demonstrate flexibility in adapting to frequent changes; and maintain the highly confidential nature of personnel work.
