Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations or Program Manager, assists in managing the overall clinical and non-clinical functions and activities of a multidisciplinary team providing services to patients in a correctional setting to meet service delivery requirements of the specific contract.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

  • Oversees and evaluates work activities of multidisciplinary team including medical, dental, mental health, nursing, technical, clerical, and support services
  • Reviews and evaluates treatment and administrative procedures and outcomes
  • Monitors, assesses and advises staff on clinical or facility related procedures and protocols as needed
  • Provides technical and administrative oversight to staff, addressing and resolving problems or conflicts
  • Supports on-site Health Services Administrator/Site Administrator in the hiring, orienting, training supervising and counseling members of the healthcare team
  • Coordinates the annual performance review process for staff in a timely manner
  • Communicates and implements contract-specific policies and procedures
  • Ensures that clinical practices are consistent with NCCHC/ACA medical and mental health standards
  • Updates regional management on overall program’s progress and/or needs in staffing, performance, CQI, legal compliance and budget/fiscal management
  • Serves as Centurion liaison to client in collaboration with the Vice President of Operations or Program Manager
  • Responds to inquiries and concerns of site contract and correctional administration
  • Ensures regular conduct and documentation of staff meetings
  • Coordinates Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program and performance audits
  • Ensures that recommendations from CQI and performance audits are implemented and the results of the corrective actions are monitored
  • Ensures that grievances received receive a prompt and clinically responsible response
  • Ensures compliance with all facility and Company policies, Federal and State laws, regulations, and guidelines including HIPAA
  • Ensures that staff coordinate care closely with security staff while maintaining a positive, collaborative relationship
  • Maintains an ethical commitment to ensure confidentiality within the limits of a correctional environment
  • Ensures that care is delivered in a nonjudgmental/nondiscriminatory manner to protect the autonomy, dignity and rights of the patient
  • Understands and adheres to safety and security rules and regulations of the institution
  • Other duties as assigned

Education / Credentials / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospital Administration, Health Care Administration, Health and Human Services, Business Administration, Public Administration, Nursing or related field
  • Prior experience as a Healthcare Administrator or supervisor of mental health program preferred
  • Must have ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally with staff and institutional administration
  • Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable
  • Must maintain current tuberculosis screening documentation and active CPR certification
