Summary
You will serve as a Counseling Center Director in the Herbert School of Medicine (SOM), Department of Family Medicine (FAM) of the UNIF SRVS UNI OF THE HLTH SCI.

Responsibilities
You will provide planning, direction, oversight, consultation, organizational and conceptual leadership to the Counseling Center.
You will provide individual and group therapy, using various modalities as clinically indicated to include brief problem-focused psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and client-centered therapy.
You will assess and provide crisis intervention for individuals and families undergoing unusual medically related stresses.
You will execute performance/program initiatives (PI) through revision of clinical standards and procedures.
You will perform a wide variety of quality management/quality assurance (QM/QA) duties to meet The Joint Commission requirements.
You will screen and interview patients and perform bio-psychological social evaluations, using expert knowledge of general and specific concepts, principles, procedures, and practices relating to psychological counseling.
You will select, approve, and document treatment priorities through a treatment plan.
You will oversee and interpret appropriate tests, using expert knowledge of general and specific concepts, principles, procedures, and practices relating to clinical psychology.
You will provide consultation regarding testing and interpreting issues.

Conditions of Employment
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional psychologist providing advice or consultation on problem-focused psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, or client-based therapy for the treatment of referred patients.

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates.
The selective placement factor is: A current unrestricted license as a practitioner of Clinical Psychology from one of the 50 United States or territories.
