General Functions + Responsibilities
Sales and Marketing
- Assists restaurant in creating, maintaining positive and influential brand presence
- Publicizes events, special promotions and other press worthy events utilizing social media outlets
- Work closely with restaurant managers and Chefs to develop marketing initiatives based on sales + historical data
- Work with core marketing team on ad campaigns & content to market restaurant
- Overall, act as key liaison between restaurant and corporate marketing team
- Assists with development and implementation of marketing and advertising campaigns
- Create and promote initiatives, events, specials, and other press worth events via marketing outlets
- Manage and post on social media outlets in addition to community management
- Track sales data for each promotion/event; analyze trends; make recommendations to increase sales/attendance
- Work closely with core marketing team to ensure website is scrubbed and up- to date
- Maintain relationships with repeat guests & clientele
Event Management
- Field all inbound event leads and plan, sell and oversee all contracted events on and off-premise
- Present ideas and solutions to meet client’s food, beverage and space needs
- Possess strong negotiating skills
- Able to organize time effectively, forward plan and prioritize tasks/projects to ensure workload is balanced and urgent situations are dealt with immediately
- Ability to work within strict budget specifications while meeting client’s expectations or deviating from the agreed expectations
- Work closely with the Executive Chef and General Manager to price & execute profitable events
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with various vendors
- Must have the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
Operations & Business Development:
- Daily restaurant operations and floor management supervision as assigned
- Monitor & closely manage host stand to ensure messaging & presence is to company standards
- Identify event opportunities to expand upon venue offerings
- Build guest event loyalty presence by locating, developing, defining, negotiating and closing new and existing guest relationships
- Work closely with corporate Sales team on event prospects and provide weekly sales & lead reporting
- Maximize venue’s private events revenue & profitability
Experience + Education Requirements
- Minimum five years of event sales experience, preferably in a management capacity
- Bachelors degree or higher preferred
- Knowledge of the Chicago area, including major business presences
- Ability to communicate efficiently with management teams, clients, and owners
- Flexible with scheduling, including evening and weekend hours
- Must be able to work extended shifts of 10 hours or more per day and 60 hours or more per week
- Ability to lift, carry up to 50 pounds
