Overview:
Join our team at Meaningful Futures, LLC, an autism waiver provider dedicated to offering essential services to families with children on the autism spectrum. As an Autism Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing support and care for individuals with autism. We are currently seeking passionate individuals who are adept at behavior management, implementing care plans, and fostering a positive environment for clients to thrive both at home and in the community.
This position is located in Bethesda, Maryland. The specialist MUST be committed to working Monday through Friday, during after school hours. Weekends are on an as-needed basis. This specific position is for two brothers; we are looking to hire a technician for each, to work one-on-one, in the home and community. Techs work on a variety of skills with the client in the natural environment.
Please note: one of the clients has an intensive behavior plan that must be followed in order to maintain safety. Knowledge and experience with aggressive clients is necessary. The other client does not display any aggressive behaviors.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
- Conduct data collection and maintain accurate medical documentation and records.
- Utilize applied behavior analysis techniques to support individuals with autism in achieving their goals.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Work closely with individuals on the autism spectrum to enhance their skills and independence.
- Provide behavioral interventions and support for individuals facing challenges related to autism.
- Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of medical records.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or higher education.
- At least 100 hours of working with a person with autism spectrum disorder.
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies and techniques.
- Knowledge of working with people on the autism spectrum.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
