The Director, Budgeting and Financial Reporting provides a key role in managing the accounting, finances, budget, financial statements and analysis of SOI. This position reports to the Senior Director, Accounting & Finance. The Director, Budgeting and Financial Reporting will be responsible for providing critical business and financial reporting along with analysis upon which the VP, Finance, CFO, management and the Board of Directors will rely for making critical operating decisions.

Job Responsibilities:
Provide timely financial statement preparation and analysis (including multi-entity consolidations)
Prepare financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Prepare monthly cash flow analysis and forecasts
Prepare rolling financial statement projections
Coordinate annual budgeting process
Manage balance sheet exposure (promptly identify liquidity, identifying surplus cash, identifying financing needs and determining best options)
Coordinate strategic quarterly financial review meetings with departments who manage restricted funding to ensure proper utilization of funds
Assist with the preparation of monthly schedules
Develop automated monthly internal management reports for Departments & Regions
Develop automated Dashboard reports for senior management and the Board
Develop, prepare and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other required financial metrics and business analysis
Assist in financial statement preparation for SOI’s annual consolidated audit
Assist in preparing Senior Management and Board reporting packages
Financial modeling related to multi-year strategic planning process
Review budget vs actuals and communicate with Budget Managers to document variance explanations
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
4+ years of experience with responsibility for financial statement preparation and analysis, GL accounting / reconciliations, budgeting or other financial project assignments;
BS and/or Master degree in Accounting preferred;
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above;
Public Accounting Audit Experience strongly preferred;
Prophix experience preferred; Microsoft Navision experience desired;
Experience writing reports in Prophix or Jet Reports preferred;
Active CPA License preferred;
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, filters, etc) required;
Experience with international organizations and foreign currencies preferred;
Superior interpersonal abilities and supervisory skills; strong budgeting and strategic planning skills; excellent analytical and reporting skills; tactful; flexible; respectful; ability to multi-task; excellent listening, thinking, negotiating, and reasoning skills;
A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of the accounting and finance function;
Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently without supervision;
Ability to resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways;
Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
