Summary Description:
Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, stocking and facing shelves, rotating product, constructing product displays, labeling shelves and pulling cardboard. May require the use of baler, pallet jack, dolly and/or fork lift. Supervise a crew of 15 employees.
1. Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner. Provide excellent customer service.
2. Reports to work as scheduled and on time per policy with predictable regular attendance. Time away from work is approved and taken in accordance with established policies.
3. Displays consistent commitment to customer service and team work. Displays personal behavior that has a positive impact for the team.
4. Consistently demonstrates and incorporates principles of safety into daily activities. See that staff uses protective equipment when appropriate for personal safety, sanitary reasons, and the prevention of Foodborne Illness. Maintains current knowledge of disaster drills. Expresses and applies principles of body mechanics to prevent injury and accidents.
5. Demonstrates positive interpersonal communications in dealing with all others. Recognizes and respects differences in the work place. Demonstrates openness, sensitivity and commitment to the customers, coworkers, vendors, and any other visitors to Sherm’s.
6. Maintains open communication with managers regarding safety issues, customer complaints and other issues that arise.
7. Supervise the daily flow of activities to maintain operational success in processes. Schedule and assign night crew and equipment to meet schedules to handle daily volume efficiently.
8. Effective management of employees by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Ensure that employees adhere to company policies. Open communication with store manager and/or HR manager regarding any employee issues prior to discipline. Notify owner, general manager, or HR immediately on any issues involving harassment.
9. Evaluates merchandise for availability, proper rotation, quality, freshness or perishable, expiration dates and correct pricing. Ensures product is ordered, stocked and available for customers.
10. Stay current on location of products within the store.
11. Responsible for assuring night crew stocks merchandise on shelves, clear aisles of trash, return merchandise to appropriate places labels on shelves and construct product displays.
12. Comply with company dress code, hygiene, and general appearance policies, including the wearing of name tags.
13. In order to operate various equipment, training and/or certification is required. Make sure you are in compliance before running equipment, such as forklift or pallet jack.
14. Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
· Journeyman Grocery Preferred & Excellent customer service skills
· Must be 18+
