The LJA Central Texas Public Infrastructure Division consists of professional and technical personnel serving both public and private clients on projects ranging from rural highways to urban freeways and frontage roads. We currently have an opening for a Traffic Manager on this team.

Summary: Produce and manage traffic engineering design and traffic studies for multiple clients including public agencies, private clients, toll operations, and other engineering consultants.

General Responsibilities:
Manage and design traffic signal projects, signing, striping, illumination, and traffic control plans for TxDOT, counties and local municipalities.
Works closely with Transportation Division offices in Dallas and Houston to assist with overall traffic needs.
Works closely with Austin Land Development Division on Master Planned Community traffic needs.
Prepare traffic studies that include traffic impact analysis for private clients, and level of service analysis and travel demand modeling for public clients.
Develop standards and guidelines for Traffic Department.
Manages staff of Engineers and Technicians.
Oversees day to day operations of group including business development activities and project management responsibilities

Required Education/Licenses:
Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering is required
Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas

Required Experience:
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the Traffic and Transportation field.
Experience with TxDOT, local toll agencies. Williamson County, City of Austin, and surrounding municipalities is a plus.
Experienced in completing engineering studies including traffic impact analysis, signal warrant studies and traffic management plans for private clients.
Experience using Synchro, CORSIM, and HCS is preferred. Experience with Trans CAD, VISSIM, and AGI32 is a plus.
Proven experience in handling multiple tasks and deadlines
Strong communication skills to interact with clients and internal employees
Ability to build strong relationships

Physical Requirements:
Sit for extended periods of time working on computer with engineering design software
Needs to move about inside the office for client meetings, meet with team members and support staff
Actively participates in meetings to follow-up with team members and clients
Ability to accurately work under pressure to meet deadlines
Be able to quickly evaluate conflicting design elements
