Iowa Fertilizer Company (IFCo) is looking for a Lead Planner and Scheduler to join our maintenance team in Wever, Iowa. This individual will coordinate the plant planners and oversee all maintenance scheduling activities. Ensures that the weekly schedule is carried out in such a manner as to accurately reflect the current status of work priorities and that necessary plans and reports are prepared for submission to relevant management. Manages the overall SAP work planning system to insure jobs are being planned, distributed evenly and scheduled according to maintenance strategies. This position will serve as a key contributor in the turnaround planning and scheduling activities. Arranges and leads critical daily and weekly work load planning meetings between operations, reliability and maintenance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

At a minimum, tasks will include:
  • Performs and manages complex and sensitive professional planning projects, research and analysis.
  • Coordinates with operational needs to prioritize and manage maintenance backlog.
  • Evaluates other planners to insure the maintenance workflow process is being followed.
  • Creates policies and procedure relating to the planning and scheduling process.
  • Prepares bid proposals.
  • Manages BOMS.
  • Works closely with procurement, reliability and warehousing.
  • Adheres to and is a champion of the MOC process.
  • Provides training and mentoring for other planners.
  • Works closely with the SAP governance team.
  • Provides overall management of area-related planning issues.
  • Demonstrated estimating experience (manpower, materials, and services).
  • Assigns work to professional staff and ensures appropriate training is provided.
  • Develop and evaluate key planning metrics.
  • Participates in budget preparations and administration, monitors and controls expenditures.
  • Effective shutdown/turnaround planning and scheduling.
  • Follow company safety and health guidelines and other company policies.
  • Ability to climb straight ladders.
  • Some work may require heights in excess of 100 feet.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Physical requirements – bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Confined space entry may be required.
  • Wearing a respirator when/where required to perform inspections/job duties.
  • Industrial chemical plant environment. Noise levels may require hearing protection.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to gather and evaluate complex information.
  • Ability to use personal computer software for word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • SAP experience a plus.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and Qualifications
  • 7 years of planning and scheduling experience in a refinery, chemical or fertilizer complex.
  • Experienced in master scheduling software like Primavera or MS Project.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in a CMMS system with knowledge of SAP preferred.
  • Experience in a predictive and preventive maintenance culture.
  • Ability to use personal computer software for word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or issues simultaneously while meeting firm deadlines.
  • Ability to provide effective leadership
  • Knowledge in local, state and federal environmental regulations a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment.
  • Provide attention to detail and ability to produce results.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
