Position Title: Chenille and Embroidery Machine Operator
Reports To: Production Manager
Position Summary: Responsible for the efficient operation of the chenille and/or embroidery machines to produce quality product.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Obtain order and cut correct felt needed or gather correct wool garments.
- Place felt or product item in hoops and stage with order.
- Set up and program machine according to order and specs, through use of computer.
- Set hoops onto machine tracks.
- Start machine and ensure machine runs appropriately producing quality pieces.
- Perform routine minor maintenance and set up of machine.
- Keep a clean and safe work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements and Qualifications: Must show attention to detail, be able to read and understand direction both oral and written, measure accurately, and be organized. Computer experience is preferred. Must be able to communicate verbally and in written form. Must be able to use a scissors, tweezers and small screw driver on a repetitive basis. Position requires kneeling, standing, bending, twisting, reaching, and lifting up to 10 lbs. on a repetitive basis. Must also be able to hoop material by applying strong pressure to hoop with both hands and arms. Fine motor skills are necessary to maintain and setup machine needles and threading. Must be able to accurately distinguish colors. Chenille machines includes pushing on a clamp to hold material in place and lifting bins of yarn, up to 40 lbs, from floor to approximately 3 feet high. Also requires being on your feet entire shift. Position is 40 hours per week. Overtime and weekends are mandatory during busy times. Must be able to work consistent overtime during peak season of October through January.
