Job Description

The Membership and External Relations position is a professional level position responsible for management of the IOA’s membership, industry partners and event sponsorship programs. The position reports to the Executive Director. Duties of the position include but are not limited to; recruitment and retention of members, maintenance of database, works with the Communications and Education Manager to market membership, oversees the IOA Young Professional’s program, serves as a liaison to local societies, oversees vendors, exhibitors and exhibit hall at the IOA’s annual convention and winter CE. This position requires some travel to the IOA annual convention, winter CE and to events related to the recruitment of sponsors and members. This position collaborates with the membership and industry partners committee to support the short and long-term goals and objectives set by the association’s strategic plan.

Bachelor’s degree and previous experience in member relations, sponsorship, campaigns or related fields preferred. Must demonstrate success in achieving an effective recruitment strategy for new and prospective members. Applicant must have excellent interpersonal skills, customer service, verbal and written communications; strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills; adept to working with diverse personalities; self-starter and able to work independently and as part of a team; ability to integrate imagination and creativity into the work with enthusiasm; and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Word, Excel, and database management.
