Provides DBA support for the Production and Pre-Production RDBMS environments. Provides guidance to development and support on latest database features. Advises Development on SQL optimization and database design. Provides mentoring for newer Database Administrators. Set’s direction for remote Database Administrators.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in more than one RDBMS and OS technology.
  • Minimum 3+ years experience with logical/physical data design
  • Experience in file structures, design, retrieval and access methods and related tasks.
  • Analytical ability, good communication skills, strong judgment, and the ability to work effectively with clients and IT management and staff.
  • Experience with RMAN, ASM, RAC, Data Guard, Oracle Grid Control
  • Strong performance tuning skills
  • Strong SQL and UNIX scripting skills
  • Understands the systems development process and has a solid understanding of business processes.
  • Project leadership skills
  • Knowledge in the following areas: IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies, architectures and technical standards, database administration tools and utilities, application architectures and design principles, infrastructure architectures - backup and recovery systems, storage subsystems.
  • Provides consultation to application developers in SQL coding and tuning, and coding and deployment of stored procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Client focused approach to work
  • A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning
  • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail
