Job Summary

The IT Director Business Solutions is a critical internal business facing role within the Office of Information Technology at Atlanta Housing. The IT Director of Business Solutions will lead a team of business analysts & an internal development team focused on AH's ERP System (Voyager). The intention is to align the business systems analysts with the following business verticals—Support Services (Finance, HR, Acquisition Management Services, Records Information Management & legal); Client Services (Inspections services, Housing services, Human Development services, Quality Control analysis); Real Estate Group services. This role requires partnering with Project Management Office and business stakeholders to plan digitization projects for the fiscal year. This includes expanding the foot print of AHA’s ERP system and deployment of cloud based solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and manage business systems analysis efforts across portfolio of projects
Define project success criteria as it pertains to technology scope and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle
Ensure business requirements for projects are in line with project scope and directly align with AH’s vision and goals
Implement best practices & associated methodology around business systems analysis
Build a standardized toolkit for business systems analysis and internal software development that can be embedded within AH’s Project Management Methodology (PMM) framework
Leverage tools such as: 1) business case analysis to conduct feasibility studies on technology investments, (2) Failures Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to proactively identify potential causes and probability of failures and mitigation plans around the same, (3) Pareto analysis & (4) Root cause analysis
Partner with the business leads, enterprise architecture, IT operations, internal development & vendor resources to ensure applications are designed per specs
Lead requirements gathering sessions with business and drive collective thinking around business needs tied to organizational goals
Be the final authority in deciding software deployment approach for a project (i.e waterfall, agile, sprint etc). In this capacity, it is expected that the IT Director Business solutions will collaborate with the internal development team that includes any development in the SharePoint content management space so as to ensure appropriate alignment with the chosen development strategy
Central point of contact/Technology lead for all technology deliverables and associated timelines for large complex projects
Hold other IT functional leads accountable for their respective deliverables on large complex projects
Deploy Business Systems Analyst (BSAs) on business projects requiring technology solutions
Hold business systems analyst accountable for not only documenting comprehensive business requirements but also act as technology lead on business projects as needed
Drive BSAs to collaborate with the project team and identify solution that should meet the agreed requirements. It covers documenting and analyzing business, stakeholder, functional, and non-functional (quality of service) requirements; modeling business domain using process diagrams, flowcharts, data models; exploring behavior models using use case, user experience design, storyboards, wireframes, user profiles and user stories and finally verifying and validating requirements
Assess proposed solutions to help stakeholders select a solution which best fits their requirements
Partner with technology teams to build POCs and showcase prototypes to business so as to prove that the solution meets business requirements and ensure the solution meets business objectives for the project
Partner with IT QA and Application Support to ensure developed solutions (internally developed as well as 3rd party Custom Off The Shelf products) are thoroughly tested and deployed in production through AH's IT change control process
Provide project support through implementation, post-implementation application stabilization period and ensure a smooth transition of deployed solutions to IT application support
Partner with functional and IT application support leads to plan and execute on major and minor upgrades to Yardi Voyager- AH’s ERP system
It is expected that this person will be the de facto expert on Yardi Voyager and will have a close eye on Voyager future road map so as to offer guidance to the agency on the timing for upgrades, enhancements etc.
Drive future upgrades and enhancements to Workday product deployed for AH
Partner with business and within IT to strategize around AH’s Business Intelligence and Data warehousing needs
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely manner
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
Plan, schedule and track IT milestones and deliverables for projects using appropriate tools
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project
Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
Motivate and provide guidance to team members. Responsible for performance evaluation and identifying training needs for team members as well
Other project and leadership duties may be assigned as business needs require
.Regularly participates and leads training sessions, presentations, and meetings.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements
Strong strategic thinking and business analysis skills.
Ability to lead a team of direct reports as well as cross-organizational teams, establishing clear deliverables and expectations while holding team members (including vendors) accountable for results.
Possesses a thorough business acumen; ability to quickly understand AH's goals, vision and business model
Possesses general understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design.
Understands Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures.
Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements.
Working knowledge of Yardi Voyager, MS Project server, MS projects; MS EXCEL, WORD, PPT, SharePoint 2010; and Visio.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Ability to manage shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Educational and Experience
12 years of IT management experience with progressive responsibilities which include leading and successfully implementing large ERP projects is a must. Significant experience leading IT teams across multiple technology functions
8 years direct work experience in systems analysis function with progressive responsibilities which include project management, process development and execution
Working experience with MS Project and effectively applying IT PMO methodology to enforce project standards
Must have experience in leading requirements gathering sessions to identify optimal solutions to support business needs
Experience implementing Yardi in a commercial or residential real estate company strongly preferred
Experience with end to end implementation of Financial and HR solutions strongly preferred
Experience with design, deployment of data warehousing solutions is strongly preferred as well
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or business related field required
PMP or Six Sigma Certification preferred.
If not PMI certified will be required to obtain certification from an accredited program within 8 months of hire.

Working Conditions:
Generally works in office environment. Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects. Must be able to work in a deadline-focused and pressure-driven environment. Lifting not usually to exceed 10-20 pounds. May be required to have valid State of Georgia driver’s license and be fully insurable for the purpose of obtaining clearance on company “Authorized Driver’s List.” Additional hours as required to meet workload demands.
