Chaney Consulting Group, Inc., a leading edge third party administrator and consulting group, provides disability claims management services to large employer clients. These services include workers’ compensation, short term disability and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) management. Located in Independence, Ohio the team has grown over the past few years and is looking for a driven, goal oriented, client-focused, team-player for the position of Disability Claims Specialist. Training is provided to all employees in accordance with the company’s standards and best practices. This position reports to the Vice President of Operations.
The role is responsible for the effective administration, coordination and management of occupational and non-occupational claims. The position works closely with employer clients, attorneys, physicians and other partners to ensure the best outcome for the employer client and the client’s employee.
Specific responsibilities to include:
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional advanced education up to and including an Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration is strongly preferred. A demonstrated and consistent work experience in an administrative professional environment is required with preference given to those who have worked in a human resources or risk management department. Must have developed knowledge of claims processing preferably of workers’ compensation, FMLA or disability claims. Strong computer skills including practical use of MS Office is required.
