Front Office Receptionist Job Description
The Front Office position is responsible for greeting patients and visitors into the clinic in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner. Front office will work as a team directly with the Facility Manager and Billing Director who are direct supervisors of the role. It is essential the staff member filling this job has great interpersonal skills that are friendly and positive. Organizational and great communication skills to be able to relay messages between the front desk and the clinic therapists, speak with and greet patients, answer office phones, and talk with insurances and staff members are a must. Must be able to handle demanding/challenging patient/parent population. Must be self aware and honest about needs during ebbs and flow of work stress and workload. Must be able to delegate to assistant/clinical tech positions.
We are a facility that focuses on orthopedic injury rehabilitation as well as prevention; medical management of club sports teams and elite athletes; as well as community outreach. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcoming, outgoing, friendly, and respectfully greets patients and visitors into the clinic in a prompt, courteous, and professional and team work manner - maintaining lobby and front desk area in a neat and orderly manner
- Detailed oriented with the ability to be able to attend to multiple tasks throughout the clinic in any given time and perform time management appropriately
- Obtains appropriate records and prepares charts required for check-in and treatment (insurance verification, demographics, scheduling, confirming, and adjusting upcoming appointments, scanning paperwork into electronic medical record, faxes documents, calling and contacting other physician offices for documents, etc.)
- Payment collection (collecting co-pays, deductibles, durable medical equipment items, etc.)
- Proficient in Google, Google Drive applications, email, and Excel
- Orders items for the clinic (front office supplies, back office supplies, etc.)
- Utilizes HIPPA regulations appropriately with patient confidentiality
- Attend offsite events (community, screenings, volunteer engagements, marketing engagements, etc.)
- All of the above will be done in accordance with established front office protocols to contribute to the efficiency of the front office
- Health focused - helping promote and encourage a healthy clinic environment and mentality
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school graduate or higher
- Required 3-5 years clerical support experience - preferred in a medical office setting
- Interest in fitness and athletics

Work will require sitting for an extended period of time, viewing and typing on computer screens for extended periods of time, stooping, bending, and occasionally lifting items weighing up to 30 pounds. Required manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, calculator, copier, and other necessary office equipment. Vision and hearing must be corrected to normal range.
