Job Title: Technology Specialist- Data Integration
260 day, full time, year round
The Data Integration Specialist will provide programming support to Kent ISD and its partner districts. This position will focus in developing data interfaces for the purpose of automating data exchanges between educational systems.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with particular emphasis on technology, management of information systems or programming preferred.
Three years of programming experience preferred.
Three years of relational database experience preferred.
Specialized training and/or certifications from technology manufacturers and/or industry associations, such as A+ certification, Microsoft Certified Professional, and/or work experience in lieu of certifications.
Experience with tools such as Clever, Ed-Fi data standard, MiDataHub, scripting languages, PowerShell and API endpoints.
Understand database design concepts, including relational database design (table structure; one-to-many relationships).
Working knowledge of personally identifiable information and legal compliance is a must. Broad understanding of education privacy and compliance law (FERPA, CIPA) preferred.
Proven analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
Solid customer focus, teamwork, innovation, creativity, and relationship building.
Experience in developing technical documentation including requirements, specifications and guides.
Ability to lead projects from start to completion with minimal guidance.
Experience in developing and executing application test plans.
Must have good written, verbal, organizational and communication skills.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain and support of Michigan Data Hub integrations for Kent ISD and its local school districts.
Participate on the Michigan Data Hubs Operations Team and coordinate Data Hub work with local districts.
Develop, maintain and support data integrations and data automation for educational data systems including, but not limited to MealMagic, CareerCruising, SWIS and VersiTrans.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of data and applications through programming, data reviews, and documentation.
Develop account provisioning automation with both Active Directory and G Suite for Education.
Create formal communications to ISD and district staff on milestones, software releases and project updates.
Work with ISD and district leadership to develop actionable data dashboards.

Salary: $55,000-$65,000 per year
