SCAD seeks a Lock Technician to maintain keys and locks throughout the entire university. In this role, you will assist design and construction teams with door hardware recommendations consistent with current lock and hardware standards and technology. You will also maintain door hardware and conduct basic access control board maintenance.
The ideal candidate has experience pinning locks on GMS, working with low voltage power supplies and door operators, and experience with a variety of products and manufacturers including Schlage, Sargent, Medeco and Corbin Russwin. You are also familiar with Access Control systems and have experience or the ability to learn cutting keys with CodeMax key cutting machine and the installation of hardware including ADA systems and other door operators.
Certification as a Registered Locksmith, Certified Registered Locksmith, Certified Professional Locksmith or Certified Master Locksmith through the Associated Locksmiths of America is a plus.
– High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to a year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
– Valid driver’s license
– Knowledge of or experience as an institutional locksmith
