Reports To: Project Executive overall and Project Manager on project basis.

Responsible for assisting in the safe completion of projects within budget, on schedule, to the Cutler quality standards, and to the client's satisfaction as well as creating new clients and maintain existing owner relationships.The Assistant Project Manager provides technical support to the Project Manager and Field Staff to ensure the team receives all pertinent information necessary to construct on schedule. Tasks include, but are not limited to; tracking, maintaining, analyzing, and distributing information such as shop drawings, submittals, RFI?s, subcontracts, and change order requests.

Core Responsibilities:
Assist in the creation of a schedule during sub-bidding that reflects the project strategy and is sufficient to estimate from and to award subcontracts to qualified subcontractors.
Monitoring the purchasing schedule and identifying and resolving purchasing challenges during the early stages of pre-construction.
Identify any lead-time problems or set-backs (i.e. strikes, shut downs, back logs), working with PM to resolve and keeping all appropriate parties in the loop regarding project implications.
Ensuring all documents and materials are maintained throughout a project.
Works with the Project Superintendent to control and monitor construction progress.
Manage the submittal process and effectively communicate with subcontractors and project team as needed to ensure potential issues are quickly resolved.
Maintain current financial reports to quickly identify potential and existing issues that could lead to sub par financial performance; work with Project Manger to address. Develop and maintain positive Subcontractor relationships through established strong communication in regards to responsibilities, changes and issues as well as following up on requests in a timely manner.
Develop critical client relationships through being available for client requests, working collaboratively with outside parties (i.e. the design team, etc.) to accomplish client goals and maintaining close communication across Project Team regarding client contact tactics and strategies.
Attend and participate in Project Kick-Off, Subcontractor, Owner, and Cutler Team Meetings. Prepare Meeting Minutes.
Represent Cutler in project meetings.
Assist in client interviews and proposal presentations.
Adhere to and enforce company safety policy.
Train and Mentor Project Engineers.

Software applications: MS Office (word and excel), Constructware, Prolog or other project management software, Timberline Estimating, Project 2013, ISqFt.
Experience managing small projects or as part of a project team on larger, more complex projects.
Good understanding of scheduling principles and logic. Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in applicable discipline, 3-5 years of related experience or has gone through Cutler Intern and Mentoring Program or APM or Project Engineer with another commercial general contractor.
Plan reading: Ability to read construction documents/plans and ability to read MEP documents/plans.
Good Written and Oral Communications Skills, Strong Initiative, Problem Solving abilities.
Flexibility to travel.
