Job Description:
Looking for someone with strong hospitality and leadership skills to join our team full or part time as a Trail guide. Duties include but are not limited to, pairing guests with appropriate horses, giving brief riding tutorials, guiding guests along the trail while relaying the history of the winery and our property, with safety as your focus. Assisting in scheduling horses and working with your direct supervisor for any and all barn needs. This job does NOT offer housing.
Job Duties:
· Monitoring the wellbeing of all trail horses on property, able to identify lameness, administer meds and supplements as necessary.
· Leading and monitoring groups on trail rides, must have vast knowledge and horse experience to ensure guests a safe and memorable experience (multiple rides per day)
· Updating feed charts, riding charts, etc. on a regular basis
· Identifying all tack is in good working condition
· Logging all rides that go out
· Ensuring all waiver releases are completed properly
· Weekly filing of all waivers
· Regularly exercising horses
· Writing daily reports that are sent to manager and ownership
· Notifying management when orders are needed to maintain that inventory
· Regular cleaning and tidying of barns on property including some stall cleaning
· Maintaining clean trails as well as all areas used by guests and staff
Requirements:
· Prior Horse experience including safe groundwork, grooming, saddling, schooling, and exercising of horses
· Strong leadership and hospitality skills
· Knowledge of horse medications and how to administer as needed
· Organizational skills with high attention to detail
· Strong communication skills/ ability to deal with customers and coworkers in a patient and respectful manner
· Able to lift 75lbs
· Must be able to work weekends
· Knowledge of Excel a plus
