Job Description: Quality Protection Services is seeking an individual to oversee a portfolio of more than 50 - Class "A" commercial high-rise sites where Fire Life & Safety Director coverage is provided. Due to the nature of the position, the candidate must be flexible and available 24x7 in the event of an emergency.
Ideal candidate must have a minimum of seven years of Fire Safety Director experience in a commercial property or portfolio and hold an FDNY F-89 Certificate of Fitness. Additional certificates including sprinkler/standpipe S12 & S13 certifications is a plus.
Must have strong knowledge and understanding of FDNY codes and the ability to interpret.
Responsible to ensure all staff are compliant with FDNY rules and regulation. Coordinate scheduling on-site exams. Review standard operating procedures and policies. Evaluate team members, train and mentor as required. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Must articulately and intelligently communicate with property managers, building owners and FDNY officials.
Must be able to demonstrate a high level of ethics and maintain a professional appearance.
Computer literacy required with demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Ability and maturity to carry out assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

Review Fire Life & Safety portfolio coverage to ensure site(s) are compliant with FDNY regulations. Make recommendations for additional coverage where required.

Tracking & owning the COF Compliance issues in regards to all company-wide FLSDs/FSDs and ensuring re-certification of COF for all FLSDs/FSDs with complete comprehension of the liability coverage per FLSD/FSD in all assignment locations.

Complete recognition of the fact that Fire Life Safety is fully inclusive of security operations and an integral part in mitigation of client liability.

Conduct site-visits to ensure fire life safety staff are properly prepared and possess the knowledge and tools to handle an emergency incident.

Communicate with clients including property managers and directors of security to ensure staff members are performing their assigned tasks in a professional manner.

Investigate and determine causes of unwarranted fire alarm activations and FDNY response.

Provide direction to clients to address fire department related violations and necessary steps to resolve.

Coordinate with fire life safety staff to ensure they are properly prepared to successfully take FDNY computer based and onsite examinations.

Ensure all staff have all proper documentation when reporting to FDNY Headquarters" including employment verification letter(s). Follow-up with candidates to determine status of the FDNY examinations.

Coordinate with third party vendors to conduct on-site preparation to candidates taking on-site examinations.

Create Standard Operating Procedures and Public-Address announcements relating to various fire and non-fire incident response.

Attend professional development meeting to enhance and gain knowledge of relevant trends.

Conduct "hands-on" fire alarm system training with FLSD staff and Area Managers. Simulate realistic emergency events and allow staff to perform realistic response. Evaluate and train as needed.

Provide training materials to team members for various FDNY certification examinations. Encourage all staff to expand their knowledge including obtaining FDNY fireguard and other certifications.

Coordinate with Property and Account Mangers to schedule FDNY - FLSD onsite examinations. Ensure candidates have necessary materials to prepare.

Exceptional presentation and training skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences including management, clients, and employees

10+ years of experience in Class A office buildings.

Proficiency in Access Control software, Life Safety Systems, and Elevator Control Systems.

FLSD certification.
