Role purpose
The candidate will be the main point of contact and oversee all day-to-day business development support for our New York Corporate partners and support on key initiatives for the M&A and Private Equity practices.

Job description
The role will involve practice strategy, pitches, market research, and PR. There is also involvement in the day-to-day running of the business from a Business Development perspective, especially in relation to marketing processes management, planning, and execution. Due to the constantly changing nature of the business, change management is an increasingly important part of the role.
Role and responsibilities
- Working directly with the attorneys to create and manage competitive proposals, credentials, pitches and presentations.
- Working closely with the attorneys to develop and implement the business development strategy and plans.
- Working with the Senior Manager, US Transactional Practices to onboard and integrate lateral hires into the practice and our global network.
- Developing a deep understanding of key practice sectors to identify market trends and highlights practice and client opportunities. Cross-practice & cross-office integration: Using an understanding of the firm’s international partner and business development network (and the varied range of working practices/styles) to coordinate existing projects and develop new opportunities. Sharing ideas with colleagues in order to enhance quality and efficiency of work and developing best practices for the practice groups and the business development team as a whole.
- Developing and maintaining effective marketing processes for assigned groups
- Collaboration and integration with other parts of the firm, especially the global Client Relationship Management team and global Corporate BD team is essential. Client listening (interviews): Working with the partners to develop a process to do pitch, matter and relationship debriefs, in conjunction with the global client listening team and client relationship teams.
- Working with the US client events coordinator to plan and run client and charity events and seminars.
- Coordinating and attending firm sponsorships of conferences throughout the year (e.g., targeting speaker opportunities, coordinating materials and speakers, conducting event follow-up, etc.)
- Maintaining up-to-date "master" list of deals and sharing relevant information relating to the deals with other internal groups and to externally managed databases and league tables.
- Working with the Senior Manager, US Transactional Practices and liaise with firm’s PR & Communications team to ensure that deal activity, individual partners and teams are promoted regularly in the media and greater market
Team
This position reports directly to a Senior Business Development Manager and works closely with other members of the US business development/marketing team and members of the company's global community. The Business Development Manager will directly support junior members of the US Corporate business development team and will serve as a mentor to those individuals.

Additional information - External
The annualized base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $190,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on the overall qualifications of the individual applicant for the position and other job-related factors permitted by law.
