M&J Engineering is actively interviewing for existing and upcoming Port Authority of New York and New Jersey projects
Positions available: Contract Specialists for PATH and PORTS, JFK, LGA, Newark, Teterboro Airports and New Jersey Marine Terminals, Goethals Bridge and various Port Authority Facilities
Preparing and/or reviewing payment applications, performing desk audits of contractor billings, ensuring proper documentation is received from Contractors for all aspects of contract, preparing monthly reports, monitoring contracts, preparing Project Meeting Minutes, preparing general correspondence, faxing, shipping. Duties may consist of posting information to logs; maintaining databases, records and filing systems.
Independent analysis and exercise of judgement in task execution. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks in conjunction with conflicting priorities and deadlines; strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify issues and recommend solutions and ability to navigate multiple database systems and other relevant applications.
Associate degree or higher in Business or Engineering from accredited college or university
Experience working in construction industry related environment (i.e. project site, construction management firm or construction compliance monitor)
Must possess a valid driver’s license. Periodic assignments may require travel within the Port District using public transportation, PA vehicle, or personal vehicle.
Skill requirements: Must possess exceptional data management and computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite with advanced knowledge of Excel, and PowerPoint and SQL ad hoc reports. Selected individual will be trained for inputting information into PA programs.
