Job Title: Genetic Counselor - Maternal Fetal Medicine

VHC Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Genetic Counselor to join our Maternal Fetal Medicine team. As a Genetic Counselor at VHC Health, you will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative and supportive environment, providing essential genetic counseling services to patients and their families as part of the maternal fetal medicine program. This position has the potential to become full time by next year. Ideal candidates will have interest in growing the genetic counseling services at VHC Health in the areas of hereditary cancer and/or cardiology.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct genetic risk assessments and provide counseling to patients and families regarding genetic conditions and birth defects
- Collaborate and communicate with the maternal fetal medicine team to develop comprehensive care plans for patients
- Coordinate genetic testing and interpret the results for patients and their families
- Educate patients, families, and healthcare providers about genetic conditions and available resources
- Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices in genetic counseling
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling or related field
- Board certification or board-eligible as a Genetic Counselor
- Experience in maternal fetal medicine or prenatal genetic counseling preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Knowledge of current genetic testing technologies and resources
